Muddy Marvelous !!!
If only Geebo had been at the game he would he seen a fantastic performance by Ross Donaldson (beware Ross, wellibob is developing a love relationship nearly as bad as him wanting to have John Conroy's wanes some years ago).
DJ also put in a superb shift.
Re the penalty not given, Ross D was taken down just outside the box but it was seriously close.
ps Well done to the Stenny fans. Only a month to THE Walk lads.

`Splice the mainbrace me hearties` - what a tremendous performance from our team tonight and what a sweet result! The new model `Shire are prepared to run, fight, play in terrible conditions and have BELIEF in themselves - its amazing what a lift a bit of confidence has given our boys I`m totally chuffed for them. With his back to goal Ross Donaldson(with a deserved man of the match display) spun and niftily side footed into the net early on to shock Stenny then Chris McGroarty(with another impressive display) fired home a second. Stenny got back into the game with a freaky looking lob that Jackson looked to have covered but it slid into the net off his gloves - it looked a bad goal to lose but the conditions made handling treatcherous. Our 3rd was a long shot from Paul Ross that took a deflection that totally decieved the keeper and the `Shire crew were in absolute heaven. Derek Ure was upended in the box for a penalty which Chris took but was well saved by the Stenny keeper. Everyone then had to endure a nervy period of time (apparently endless) till the end where Stenny did come back into things and they scored a second after a scramble in the box - however the final whistle came soon after to cheers. Although we did get some `breaks` in the 1st half and rode our luck at times in the 2nd the players wanted this result more than Stenny did and got their sleves rolled up and got stuck in - as Mr Nimmo says, `they don`t like it up `em`! This is possibly the most significant `Shire result in 3 years - not just a win, but a derby win - I am really proud of our players tonight and so should every `Shire supporter be!

Absolutely stunning. Well done to the lads on a fantastic result and well done to Dennis and Greig for managing to get a team together that actually seems to be capable of competing in this league. Keep up the good work lads. Surely 3 in a row is not out of the question against East Fife on saturday or am I getting carried away on a wave of derby win-related euphoria?!!

"I am really proud of our players tonight and so should every `Shire supporter be! " Here, here! Even at this distance, I am well and truly chuffed at this result! I've just gone back to refereeing, and at training last night, our President (a fellow Scot, used to ref at Scottish Reserve grade) was taking the p*@#. He announced to all & sundry that I was a Shire supporter and we'd just won at the weekend for only the 3rd time this season, so if I was looking a bit confused or disoriented, now they knew why. Can't wait till next week and will be wearing my Shire strip with pride as I slog around the field. EASE UP SHIRE! ;D Now, can we maybe start looking forward to a relative improvement in our fortunes next season? Maybe like finishing off the bottom? ;D How long since consecutive wins, Strumps?

Words can not describe this performance. A magnificient team effort on a glue pot pitch, Ross Donaldson had a brilliant game and held the ball up /distributed really well. Once again The Shire played football on the ground where it should be played. Stenny were crap though but who cares. The guys deserve their bonus. Where do we go from here?

Super result - I was made up when I saw the final score on teletext. (easily best result in last 3 years) I hear Chris McGroaty could have made it 4-1 with a pen - but just a win (any win) is enough over Stenny.
I don't think 3 wins in a row is out of the question with East Fife visiting on Saturday - should be a good crowd -maybe 500.
Keep it up Shire - there is hope for a brighter future.

Look at the number of views in match talk for the Stenny game(254) there was only 211 at the match. Is this a record?

unbelievably spent £70 on a midweek home game. At least we won even though I thought score was 3-1 and totally missed the sending off (too busy celebrating the penalty decision) and missed Donaldson's opener. Enjoyed the signing but this will have to be limited to derby games / scot cup only.
Plus I won £40 on a Shire / Ipswich double at Ladbrokes. Not bad for a £5 bet whilst twinkle was slowely sinking his double voddie in Gilmours.
roll on the next stenny game when we can teach the stenny boys how to drink on a walk. Sign up now for this momentus event
