It seems like no time at all since we stood out on the Stranraer terracing getting battered by the weather (at least some of us can say we stayed out instead of running for cover when the elements went mad).
So what are your thoughts for Saturday's game ? Will Shire stop the rot ? Or will the days of gloom continue ?

I`m going for 1-5, pretty gloomy but would still be a better result than last week. Most Shire fans will recon Stranraer are the best team in this league judging by their performances against us. Some of our performances did leave a lot to be desired but they are the one team who have shown no weakness whatsoever to us, where current leaders Stirling did`nt look too clever in January despite their late comeback. We will do well to score - be happy if we do!

My prediction? 1-6 to the visitors - damm gloomy but still 1 better than last Saturday. Stranraer are a better football team than us in all departments and in our 3 games against them earlier in the season we have never managed to get even close to them. The best we did was admittedly the home game where we took the lead but we still ended up losing 1-4. Go on `Shire, prove me wrong!

Most stranraer fans would take 1-0 to Stranraer right now I asure you. If we win our next three games I'm sure that would be enough for us. It's time to get the sleeves rolled up and grind results out now as the other teams will be trying for some sort of revenge for the heavier defeats earlier in the season.
Although if we play a good passing game tomorrow then I don't think Shire will get near us and it could be a comfortable 3 or 4-0.

Most stranraer fans would take 1-0 to Stranraer right now I asure you. Why don`t we do a deal. We get the tannoy man to say the game will be played behind closed doors because of danger to the crowd from a `rat infestation`. Everybody goes to the pub and gets sloshed. We all cook up a story to tell everybody else about a dour defensive game that Stranraer won 0-1 (pen M. Moore 1). Hey presto, everybody`s happy!

I'm hoping to see last week's sweeper experiment repeated and Newal play a blinder and if we defend really well we might just get beaten rather than gubbed. The score at Stranraer could have been anything - 1.

Today's ref will be Eddie Smith (unless there's another late change) - his 3rd Division stats so far this season are:-
16/8 Cowden v Albion Rvrs (1-4) - 4 yellow cards 13/9 Stranaer v Shire (4-0) - 2 yellow cards 4/10 Gretna v Montrose (1-1) - 1 yellow card 14/11 Cowden v Shire (2-1) - no cards 10/11 Queen's Park v Stranraer (0-4) - 2 yellow cards 16/3 Albion Rvs v Peterhead (3-3) - 1 yellow, 1 red (straight) card

When is the game re-scheduled for? It could be our lowest crowd of season now.

A postponment is just what's needed. At the very least, it's not a loss...yet. It may be a step in the right direction towards winning again.

We've through this before - woman and footy dinnae mix, especially at the weekends. Least I went out on Saturday. See you Tuesday for the re-arranged game. I'm off work, going out early ? ps didn't know that you were into cars and their drivers

Is the Stranaer game definitely on Tuesday night ? Have seen different things in the media but no confirmation.
