Hi,
I handle the PR for Littlewoods Pools and we are currently developing a website for The Shire.
As part of this, we are looking for old pics of players, matches, the ground or anything that you think might be of interest.
If anyone has anything, please do not hesitate to contact me. We will return anything sent in.
Thanks for your help. Sandrine Fletcher 0113 220 0557

Hi Sandrine, I suggest you get hold of a `Shire centenary book (produced after 100 years of `Shire in 1981) - there are a few good old photo`s in it. Only thing is they are quite rare these days and are jealously guarded by fanatical fans - I`ll see what I can do.

I have a number of old pics and stuff which may be useful to add colour to the site. Seriously worried about mailing them though as if they go missing it would be a an indescribable loss to us Shire fans.
Sandrine, sent me a PM if your interested and to see if we can work something out.

Strumps, one way of handling the old pics, which are very dear to your heart as I know, is to take photos of them with a digital camera. With the right exposure etc this can work out really well. It does take a bit of fiddling to set up and does require a tripod but you can get amazing results. You could have your collection backed up on to computer.
I'm also trying to get pictures etc for the trust website.

Thanks for the info.
My maw (wellibob's spelling) is giving me her digital camera no. 3 so I will be able to do this pretty soon. Will have chat with you at the Head on Monday re this.
Silly question, late at night I know, but what format do the pics get saved in. I know about jpeg etc but what I'm more interested is in is what can you do with a saved imagine you don't have the original for.

Strumps, while you've got the digi-cam get out and get a picture of "Big Joe" - there doesn't appear to be one of your fellow God on the web-site, most upsetting.

Picture 18 is class. Reminds me of the end of the 1975 Aussie film "Picnic at Hanging Rock".
Peterzzz, I do like the pics. Cheers for the link.
