After a close (but not quite close enough) thing against East Fife we now face Queens Park. They have had a reasonably good start to the season, being the only team to beat Gretna so far and they will think themselves unlucky last week when 1-0 up against Montrose they conceeded 2 late goals which cost them the game. We have a chance tomorrow, as we have in all the games in this current run, and I just hope we take it and get some points on the board - I really don`t care how we do it, lets go for it Shire! Or we could sit back and bore them to death for a 0-0, whatever!

We do have a chance today but no more than in the last couple of weeks. Without being blindingly obvious what we need is the team to play well, work hard, keep trying right to the end (remember the Montrose game 2nd last week of last season & the last minute goal we leaked - say no more) and a bit of a `break` (as the Americans say) would be nice for a change as well! Come on the `Shire!

of course Shire can get a result against Queens Yawn Park
Get right in their faces, concentrate for the full game, do the easy thing, have lots of shots BUT PUT IT IN THE BACK OF THE NET !

Bit of a disaster today to put it mildly, it was one of those games where the opposition did`nt have to work too hard cos they know we would foul up sooner rather than later. Strong, blustery winds helped David Harvey score 2 Own goals which made the scoreline look bad (hey, its just one of those things that happened twice!), but to be honest we were all at sixes and sevens today and looked like we could conceed more at any time. Difficult to take any positives from this, we were in such a state that even 20 mins into the game we had lost all our confidence and NOTHING was coming off for us at all, every pass went astray, we gifted possesion by losing out in the tackle and we only managed to make 2 or 3 decent chances in the whole game.
There was some shouting at Mackin (mostly) and the manager (from some part timers!) but to be honest I think that every now and again this season there will be a game like this where the team will totally lose the plot and get scrubbed. We know the story by now, we will be suitably dissappointed and upset and will then move on to the next game where we will all hope for something better. So if you can be like me and forget this game ever happened - it helps!

Good too hear that Mackin is getting stick. He deserves it and much more.
For those of us who can't get to games just now it is even more frustrating than for those of you who actually get to see what is happening.
I notice that Greg wasn't playing and again we got humped. Why doesn't this happen when he plays. Is it just a coincidence? Or is he the organiser we so desperately need in defence.
I was pleased to see that Stephen Oates is back from the States and hopefully he and Greg can build a partnership at the back as we need to get a solid defence to build something on.
