For those who don't know Alloa play Stirling at Recreation Park on Tuesday night to earn the right to get beaten by the Shire in the final. It looks like the Stirling keeper Myles Hogarth is out for a few weeks with a broken cheekbone sustained during the loss to Morton in the Bells Cup. The No 2 keeper Scott Christie is obviously not up to much as he is aged 12! (Looks it anyway in the paper!). The Binos are wingeing about injuries so it will be interesting to see who turns out for them on Tuesday, the under 12's are a safe bet. I think it looks like Alloa in the final.

Hi, yes it is and the venue is yet to be decided pending the other semi. Could it be at either Forthbank/Rec Park depending on who losses?

Sure TDK said that Shire Park will be the venue for the Final, 1st time since the 1970's. Is this true ?

I know its against the grain but I might just swing by Rec Park this evening to check out the opposition and a pint of Deuchars and report back. Is TDK going does anyone know?

Its the Shire v Stirling Albion in the final after Alloa lost 1-2 to the Albion tonight at Recreation Park. Stirling fielded a strong team and deserved the win. Alloa opened the scoring on 16 mins with a well worked goal from Brown and was duly cancelled out after good work from Stirling's O'Brien who gave Hay an easy follow up to ram the ball home. The second half was all Stirling and the winner came on 63 mins with a strong header from Graham. My thoughts are that we have a good chance as it will be unlikely that Stirling will field so many first teamers who played tonight purely for fitness. Even so on tonights display the Stirling goalkeeper was not the best (Christie) and the defence was not well organised especially in the early stages. If we get behind the Shire I feel we have a great chance. Final venue is still under discussion but the smart money tonight was on Forthbank. The Alloa programme editor who is a big chap who is a test pilot for Ginsters pies was adamant it will be Forthbank as the Stirlingshire FA are keen to have a decent crowd. We will see.

Not quite to Tads standard but I did enjoy the Alloa fans slagging the ref who actually was not that bad. No tea stall either and it was bloody cold after 90 mins! Thats what happens when you don't do large beers prior to a game. Anyone know yet where the final will be?
