Ok, last Saturday is now a happy memory - time to sober up a bit people! This game is pretty important as it is against one of the teams many fans thought we should have beaten or at least drawn with last time. Just because the Fifers seem to be on a poor run is no guarantee we can do anything but I am hoping we can take something from them this time. We might be able to put last season`s badness into perspective - if we win this Saturday we will have equalled our entire points total for 03/04.

Can`t wait for this. The same level of form shown against Gretna(h) ,Peterhead (h) and Elgin (a) will do fine. Can Shire handle being almost being favourites 21/10 in the bookies.? Don`t get too excited lads just cut out the mistakes and concentrate and everything will be fine. Hope we get a decent crowd.

Strumps
I won`t be in the Goose to-morrow but I might be in the Gordon Lounge abot 2.30 with my daughter(the jambo). She also loves the Shire +Del & his Maw and she knows Marion as well. I`ve got the Golf Club dinner in Edinburgh tonight. If the Shire don`t get at least a draw it`s a bad result. Lets all get behind them they should be welcomed back as heroes! ps Littlewood has been quiet is the free bus still on?

Today the home fans were able to watch a performance similar to last weeks - a tightened up defence (except for East Fife goal - what happened there?), a bit of dig in midfield and a bit of confidence and craft up front - what an improvement, even on earlier games this season. I thought that East Fife came here fired up for this game and we actually coped quite well with them apart from their goal which aparently was a bit of a gift (I did`nt see it). The way we buckled down, got a hold of the ball and created chances against a determined outfit shows that we have come far in a short space of time - it was good to watch today. I am pleased with the draw and point but we had a couple of reasonably good chances in the 2nd half that if we had taken would have given us all 3 points, and if the game had turned out that way I don`t think many people would have thought it undeserved. Not that I`m complaining, keep this kind of performance up guys, that is definately what the supporters want to see, come on you `Shire!

Is it just me but Derek Ure did get booked for the Shire in the last ten mins. All the match reports have missed it.
Did I miss any other Shire bookings ?

Derek did get booked for not retreating 10 yards at the free kick. It was debatable as the ref was about 40 yards away. Another good performance from The Shire they played some good football at times and I think Shire fans have got more to look forward to than East Fife fans. What about the pitch the ball kept bobbling about caused by the ruts, long grass surely it can be trimmed a bit If anyone has a mile long extension lead I`ll take a day off work bring along my ancient Flymo and trim it. Although we`re bottom of the league we`re trying to play a passing game and the pitch isn`t helping. It`s only helping kick and rush teams.
