This game with Albion Rovers now takes on added significance after our win (and their draw) this weekend. If we can win this game we can close the gap at the bottom of the table to 1 point - the closest it will have been all season - on the other hand lose it and be cast 7 points adrift and struggling to catch up - a real 6 pointer! My only worry is that when a game of significance comes round we have often bottled it in the recent past (last seasons 3-0 Elgin loss in similar circumstances springs to mind) - I just hope the team is big enough and has enough pride in themselves to produce 2 good performances in a row!

Sadly Mr Bob you have completely missed the wonderful piece of subtlety that was performed on this thread. Both myself and Strumps had - more or less at the same time - opened a thread to talk about the QP game. Seeing this, and trying not to clutter the board with topics about the same subject on different threads, I copied my opening post and stuck it on to Strumps one as a reply. I then erased my original post, renamed the thread `Albion Rovers (a), 5-2-05` and left it blank for future use ensuring no waste of space. Later, I edited my first post to say something relevant about that game.
Now off you go, wear the `hat of shame ` for a week and never assume that everything that does not `add up` is a c*ck up.

Well, a big game for us on today, fingers crossed! To be honest I don`t actually know what to expect as the team have been so `Jekyl & Hyde` lately - what can you do? Get over to Coatbridge, shout for the Shire and hope for the best, thats what!

Mastery of cyberspace is one thing but boasting about it and then picking on the wee guys is taking it a bit far. I'll need to file a report to the Ombudsman .... on second thoughts it was only Wellibob so carry on.

I`m still smiling tonight - two good `Shire performances back to back and a welcome away point. I can`t praise the team highly enough for their commitment, spirit and performance - their efforts made me a proud supporter today! Ok, a win would have been pretty useful but we did`nt lose and the situation at the bottom of the table is unchanged and in my opinion, undecided. The really good thing about this game was we did`nt get a point because Rovers slipped up or had an off day - they actually played pretty well and we matched them in determination, skill, physical `presence` and the desire to win. Both teams `had a go` and really tried hard to win the game, being evenly matched they had to settle for a draw. A very good game to watch and a pretty good advert for lower division football at the bottom of the league I thought.
Once again you have to `tip your hat` to new `Shire Keeper Jackson who was busy all afternoon and made several important saves. Very good games from Donaldson, Trialist (McGroarty), Tyrell, Wee Joe and Walker. Derek Ure was on from the start and played well - in fact did everything but score - something that a run in a revitalised team will give him confidence to do soon. Honestly, there were no failures today, I don`t think anyone actually had a bad game - Well done the `Shire!

Agreed. They were big strong boys in that Albion team. It`s amazing no one got a broken ankle/leg. Oates,Ross,Ure McGroarty all got a fair kicking but at least we tried to play football on the ground for the whole game.
