Our last REAL away trip of the season (the championship presentation et al at Grenta) so we will be training it and more importantly enjoying it.
As is usual this season the weather is interesting so I, will be buying my ticket on the day. Usual train times to Montrose will apply. I will be in tomorrow night if anyone wants to confirm things.

Weather in Montrose wintry this morning but no chance the game will be off. Are you taking many supporters on saturday ? As i said before you did not deserve 4-1 at ours last time and it will be a much tighter game this time.
How did the gretna manager win Manager of the month when you guys had a good run and we never lost in March, Money talks obviously
Thank god their away next season, the league should be very interesting all the way through the season All the best for tomorrow, Legion beside the ground cheapest for drink if someone can get signed in.
Next season the supoporters club are going to be running a lounge in the stand for away supporters has taken ages to get the go ahead but will be in place next season.

Next season the supoporters club are going to be running a lounge in the stand for away supporters has taken ages to get the go ahead but will be in place next season. AberdeenMo, let us know if this does happen - I think I can speak for all the guys by saying we would be happy to visit any new drinking establishment. As i said before you did not deserve 4-1 at ours last time and it will be a much tighter game this time. Last time was a midweek match in poor weather when we were just a bit too stretched for squad players and had to field one or two who were obviously not fit - no point in complaining about this, it happens. Hoping for a closer game this time - my only worry being that our record at Links Park is abysmal. Don`t think there will be a lot of us up for the game, the Supporters Club is not sponsoring or arranging transport this time as we`ve already had two away trips to Montrose this season! (including a late call off in December when we were in Arbroath station!)

Memories, sometimes its all you`ve got eh dingo? On a chilly and blustery day `Shire did manage to play better than last weeks shocker at Hampden but luck and some crap defending saw us well beaten up there (again!). Once again a bright start with us making most of the running in the first half and an excellent header by Derek Ure put us in front. Montrose equalised with a shot that seemed to go right through Derek Jackson - from where we were it looked a bad one to let in. We hit the bar from a good lay off from a free kick just before half time. In the 2nd half it all seemed to fall to pieces - Montrose started to dominate the game and started to make chances around our goal, their players seemed to start running past us and inevitably they took a couple of their chances. To wrap up the game Jackson hit a poor clearance which a Montrose player scored the `traditional` goal against us ran just inside the box at an angle and fired it into the far corner. To be fair its probably the first game that you could say that Jackson has had a poor game and cost us 2 goals although the defence are going to have to stop letting opponents run past them this easily. Also worring is that formerly reliable Ross Donaldson has been pretty ineffective in the last 2 games and got sent off in fraustration late on here with too many obvious fouls - though Montrose were pretty rough themselves at times.
On a brighter note we discovered that Peppo`s chip shop in Arbroath (at the harbourside, just along from the smugglers inn) is a fine establishment - although the sausage supper was just average, the fish and chips were top quality!

Didn't train it to the game as I was ill but went anway. Was disappointed that the away support was down to the runt of the hardcore for the game. Come, guys you can't leave everything up to us (can you ?). The game ended up as the same old Link's Park story after a reasonable start.
It is now 20 years watching defeat after defeat at Montrose with only the very occasional bright spot, not good.
Maybe we should play towards the sea in the 1st half the next time ?
Was it only me but were the enclosure locals a bit fiesty in the 1st half ?
