I was dissappointed with our showing here and to be honest Cowden deserved their win while apart from the first 15 mins we hardly had a proper attack in this game. There were some positional changes that may well have been forced on us through injury - Joe robertson thru the middle (left mid normally) and Derek Ure at left wing (normally striker - strange one this, I don`t think it worked very well). Sometimes you only really miss someone when they are not there - Ross Donaldson was that man today - without his ability to hold the ball up front and his combatitive style our attack looked a lot poorer. I understand he has an injury, hope he is back soon.

Does anyone know who the Shire trialist yesterday was ? You know the one with little hair wearing the no. 12 shirt and no. 16 shorts (!). The Sunday Mail has listed the sub as Ross.

Team Tactics yesterday.
Lets play 2 midfielders upfront and drop Ure back to a strickly left midfield role. Later replace a defender with a forward and move the right midfielder to the left back position.
Explain ?

Gordon Parks has some talent but I would be a lot happier if he got a lot fitter and hungrier for the game. The manager should back him into a corner and ask him if he is serious about playing football or is just messing around with us. Never mind the smart arsed articles, get the finger out, do some work and look as if you want to be picked Gordon. As for the game he looked ineffective but to be fair wasn`t given much to work with. I thought we were poor yesterday, its not the worst we`ve played but it is unacceptable to hardly threaten the opposition goal - just because we did`nt get thrashed doesn`t make the result fine.
