Believe it or not my work is quiet at the moment so it might allow me to see 2 shire games in a row, starting on saturday against Montrose then to New Bayview on Tuesday.
What pub are you all meeting up in on Saturday?
I realise F%^&*£K are also at home!!!!
I will be wearing some of the merchandise recently aquired from the official website.
Knowing my luck it will be heavy frost of friday night, therefore cancelling the game!!!
Ta TAM.

We are now on the 12 point mark, thats 50% more points than we had in the whole of last season. Our target should now be to make sure we beat the 13 points gained in the `Danny Diver 2002/03 season` which now seems achievable. However, am I alone in thinking that we have not done ourselves justice in our home games with Montrose in the last 3 years (the away games are an entirely different `kettle of fish`!). 3 1-1 draws and a couple of bad losses are all we have to show for our troubles - and remember those draws were games where most people said afterwards "why on earth did we not win those games?". Its about time we pulled the finger out on this fixture and played well, hard and concentrated to try and make sure we can get a win here that would do us all a world of good. The players have recently shown that they are capable of a fair bit of skill, grit, determination and character - lets now see consistency added to the list and get a result that would greatly please everybody with the `Shire at heart.

It was a reasonable game to watch today in spite of the conditions - although the weather was brutal at times and the pitch cut up really badly. I was dissappointed by the result, I thought losing the game was hard on us but you have to stop someone when they are running through you and we failed to do that in the last 5 mins today. Although Montrose were committed and physical I thought that we had previously shown we could now stand up to this - looks like we still cannot be consistent from week to week. Fair play to Montrose - they looked determined to get something from the game from the 1st whistle and attitude is very important at this level - our poor run of results against them continues. Shire really have to learn to stop people in their tracks by fouling them if nessesary - today just was`nt a day for any `nancying` around at the back.

I suppose it was a lot to ask for a positive result for 3 games in a row (considering our recent past) but I felt confident enough to ask for it and thats testament to an overall improvement in the teams form. To be honest yesterdays performance was pretty good and the only real fault was our failure to stop opponents making long runs from deep with the ball into our box - it has been said already these guys must be stopped - by hook or by crook! I`m really glad Derek Ure scored (a real beauty - volley from an angle on the edge of the box) as he has missed a few good chances lately and could do with the confidence boost. On a bit of a poor run themselves, Montrose were really determined to get something from us yesterday and I think we were a bit unfortunate not to get a point as we had stood up to their physical and forcefull style reasonably well untill that late sickener in the last couple of mins. Incedentally our hard fought 1-1 draw away to Albion Rovers last week was shown to be a right good result when they went away to 3rd top Cowdenbeath and won. Yesterdays result coupled with `Rovers win puts us 7 points adrift at the bottom - not a good day `at the office` but we still have a game in hand over them.
