I'm really looking forward to this one. Hope we can catch Gretna with their heads down after last week's result. Shire always play well at Raydale Park and I see no reason why can't put on a show tomorrow.
No excuses for the Shire fans to make the effort and travel.

I`ll be there and will bring some of the usual crew. I like the trip to Gretna and we usually play ok (touch wood we don`t have a nightmare now!), it`s not as far as you think (a middle distance trip for `Shire fans similar to the likes of Montrose), it`s a nice town and the people are quite friendly. Unfortunately I rather think Gretna will be trying harder against us because they lost against Cowden last week, turning their promotion chances into a long shot. However they normally do just enough against us to win - you hope one of these times they misjudge it.

The referee and linesmen appointments by the Scottish League for tomorrow's game are;
REF - BRIAN CASSIDY
LINESMEN - GARY KIRKWOOD and RICHARD GOUGH
Mr Cassidy has been in charge of six 3rd Division games this season including the nightmare 1-5 Shire defeat away at Struggling on August (don't get me started on why Davidson didn't walk). His lastest game was the Gretna 0-0 home drawn v Stranraer 1 month ago. I won't bore you with any more stats, bye !

Gretna 5 (various inc Townsley hat trick), `Shire 1 (D. Miller) Well I thought today the new manager saw us score for the 1st time under his charge and get the 1st genuinely bad result in his time. `Shire never really got going in this game which was scrappy and not at all helped by a strong blustery wind (and in the 2nd half, heavy rain) but some poor defending and poor finishing saw us well beaten - although the score did flatter Gretna a bit. But how many times have we said it this season - that we were gubbed but it flattered the opposition? Too many! Their 1st was a McGhee O.G. but partly wind assisted, the 2nd had a fair bit of wind assistance too and McGhee missjudged it for that reason and allowed their man in to score. At the 5th one of their men fired a close in shot that seemed to fly through the keepers hands into the net - not a good day at the office really! The one bit of cheer was when Miller ran on to a cutback and hit it first time into the net for our goal. Oh, and we should have taken something in the 1st half when our player was in a good position but shot straight at the keeper - from the resultant corner the ball broke to Paul Rodden but his header was agonisingly blocked on the line. At least Newall has seen what can happen on one of our bad days - the defence looked dodgy, midfield lost the ball a lot and forwards missed a few good chances to score - yes, we have problems in all areas, but I suppose it`s good that these things are seen at first hand. Only 3 home games and 1 away trip to go people!
