Ah. That hurts ! Peterhead or rather Andrew Hunter did us in last season so now it's Charleston and Strugling.
Copied this from the Shire footy mad shire as it made me laugh lots !!!
FootyMad's prediction ...
FootyMad see this game edging towards a narrow win for the Binos, as the Shire have been none too clever on the road in recent matches. Home win

This mob have their finger on the pulse don`t they? Stirling are league leaders + we are struggling (badly) in the wooden spoon position and we have this season gathered the grand total of ZERO points away from home (so far!) - maybe I`m being too hard though, perhaps this is their sense of humour comming through!

So that was the away game at Stirling game. 6-0.
We deserved the nil but SA were flattered by the score line.
That said SA, if they had been bothered to raise their game, could have at least deserved the 6-0 win.
Getting tired, took me 1 1/2 hours to get to the new city today !

While trying a sweeper system in the 1st half yesterday did show some promise a couple of individual errors directly resulted in a couple of goals. Trying out a back 4 in the 2nd half resulted in a messy and at times shambolic defensive performance with some more individual errors being very costly. Chris Newal has to accept that his performance yesterday was the stuff nightmares are made of. Being on the ball & letting an opposition forward cut in and push you out of the way which then directly results in a goal (twice) was hard to watch - although I think he will be suffering himself afterwards - don`t let that happen again Chris, bring `em down, put the ball out if you`re losing control of it, pull his shirt - do something! To be fair he was not the only one having a poor game yesterday, just the most visible.

I agree with other posters that we looked defensively better playing with a sweeper in the 1st half against Stirling than we have done for a while, the 2nd half proved that 4 at the back was a lot less effective although I suppose you can`t plan for the ammount of players having a bad game yesterday throughout the 90 mins. I`m not looking forward to the Stranraer game next week, a team we have seriously struggled against in our 3 games so far - scoring 2 and conceding 15 - although on the plus side it will be the last time we play them. Our next manager, whenever he is appointed, will have to be realistic for what remains of this season and concede that we will be lucky to `inconvenience` any of the top 4 teams on their way to beating us - against them we should clam up and be ultra defensive to avoid the possibility of a REALLY embarassing score. Against the other teams below the top 4 we should definately try and compete with them as best we can and try a few things out, eg 4-5-1 with constant midfield runners.

i'm actually wanting the job as manager... i may only be 18 but ive taken a sunday league side who hadnt won a game since they started up (about 20 games) and took them on a 25 game winning streak. could i do it again? now would be my perfect opportunity, im about to start a degree in sports coaching and go for all my badges. i have seen shire play a few times and the players are far better than the position makes out, they just need the motivation and i know a few people i could bring in to freshen things up and give a new lease of life to the club

Yesterday's game proved that we MUST play with a back 5, particularly against the top sides. I thought we looked very organised in the first half and as others have said, it was only individual mistakes and a bit of bad luck which saw us fall behind at half-time.
I wouldn't criticise Gary Wilcox for changing things and having a go in the second half, but hopefully he will learn from that (especially if he does turn out to be our new manager). We were all over the place after going to a back 4 and at the moment I would rather see us be stuffy and do some damage limitation than go all out attack and risk some more hammerings.
Yesterday also illustrated how ridiculous it is that throughout his year in charge, Stevie never gave the sweeper system a chance.
