Why not. We can take them.
There are my personal observations.
1) On Saturday at Montrose were very nearly kept a clean sheet and took the magical point.
2) At the same time Elgin introduced some very young players to Senior footy (injuries , of course).
3) Then, there is the "moment" which hangs over the heads of all City fans this season ,the "Goram game" ( Shire were victims of Elgin City's 1st ever away league win to balance things)
4) More, when Shire won at Hampden in September last season and didn't win again until the strange 4-3 in Jan win at the same venue, it had been the firm belief that results don't happen like that twice. We were stunned when they did. Will Elgin be stunned on Saturday ?
I could go on, but rather I would welcome your hexes, and worst, which will force the result in Shire's favour this Saturday.
Just this ONCE !!! (I need a real witch)

Sadly, due to unforseen circumstances, based on the fact that I have been sent to London this weekend I will not be able to go to the game on Saturday.
Even though I am still recovering from last Saturdays fun and frolics.
However, I think there is a good chance of a home win.
Hope the presentation night goes OK.
See you all at the pre-season friendlies.

I wish you all the luck you need. I think it will be a 3-1 victory ( ,yes, three points!) for `Shire.

Elgin to win 5-1. after last week, I can't see shire winning again. And I'll be sober tomorrow to witness the humiliation of getting beat by 16yr old schoolboys. TOO much to take.

Dear Liz 1-5 ? A bit much me thinks.
Still, I've feeling the same as I felt of our chances before the Albion Rovers game and we all know what happen then. So I'm predicting nothing.
One question. Why is it also sunny on the last day of the season ? I hate the sun ! Give me the winter weather any day.
Liz, joining us for the Ipswich game ?

I see you're 2-1 up...
For the first time this season, I'm more interested in another team than the Bairns.
Come on the Shire!
Mackin must go...

;D Well done lads. Superb performance today and a victory which was well deserved. It means we can now start the new season without this record hanging over us. Though Graeme McLaren in particular was absolutely outstanding today ans he would have deserved his goal had his header gone in rather than hitting the underside of the bar. More of this next season please.

YEAAAAH! Even though Morton finally blew their season today, I had cause to smile. Finally, a 'Shire win. Well done - hope you're all still out celebrating

Just back from the pub after some celebrations - thanks to everybody who has congratulated us on finally getting that elusive result - we even got a round of applause from F*****k fans in the Graeme Hotel! I acknowlege that Elgin played a few teenagers in their team but I can honestly tell you that we were the better team and deserved our win today. After enduring this season from hell we are all now acutely aware that the result is often the only thing that matters. We even had the luxury of being denied a couple of very reasonable penalty descisions by the ref today and I was surprised we did`nt get one of them at least. Well done to OUR team for the effort you put into this game and other games recently and it was good to see you finally get your reward. I am also pleased for the management duo of Dennis and Greg who are now free from `monkeys on the back` and leftover stains from this often shambolic season that was not of their making - it must be a welcome relief for them to be able to start the new season with a `clean slate`.

nachOking I truely feel for you. Something really stinks about your 2nd half of the season.
Shire - please never do this again ! I got home at 3.45am and just know that I'm not going to last today without being ill.
Funniest thing yesterday was meeting 3 players, late on, eating a chippy with cans in hand in the town center (lads - even the Shire fans don't try that hard to get a £500 fine from the law - talk about blowing your season's wages).
The game for me felt unreal. Somehow it just didn't feel right, I don't know why. Shire were worthy winners and should have won by more. I don't have a clue what the majority of the Elgin City players were all about in the 2nd half but who cares !
At the awards in the Gordon after the game the you could just see what the result meant to the players. The only negative note was hearing that Dougie Polwart had been released - not good.
Now to watch Aldershot Town go football league.
