Thought all Shire fans would like to know that matchday admission to Saturday's game with Elgin City will be free.
Littlewoods Pools are paying the normal admission cost on the fans’ behalf, to allow the club to let everyone in for free, so please let as many people as possible know about it, so we can have a bumper crowd for what we hope will be the first win of the season.
For the sceptics among you, see Thursday's F*****k Herald for details, and check the other Scottish papers over the next couple of days for news of the announcement.
Those who come to the Elgin game will also get a voucher giving half-price admission to the following home game with Queens Park. Littlewoods Pools will be paying the difference.

Thank you Littlewoods for a generous gesture. This should ensure a healthy crowd. I was bringing 2 friends from Edinburgh on Saturday so they are over the moon. We`ll maybe stick a tenner on a Shire win at the bookies.

Excellent stuff. Exactly the kind of scheme that we need. Hopefully we can get in a bumper crowd and the lads can do the job on the pitch.

A generous gesture indeed - thank you Littlewood. As well as my friends I will also tell the Elgin fans.

I will tell my children who will look at me as if I'm mad. They think the Shire is full of hobbits... I tell them that's why we didn't win much last year. Has the terracing been fixed at all? will postpone my next trip till it is

Think we can expect pretty much the same starting line-up that played against Cowdenbeath last week as none of the injured players are fit to return. Hopefully we will see a) a decent crowd and b) a positive result. It's really important that we start picking up points soon or the confidence will start to drain out of the team.

`SHIRE 0 ELGIN CITY 1
This was another `game of 2 halves` in which we were reasonably good in the 1st and faded badly in the 2nd. I`m unsure wither Elgin were so traumatised by losing twice to us last season that they played with a very compact and rather defensive shape to make it hard for us to score or that this is just the normal way they play this season. Whatever the case, we spent most of the 1st half attacking and made a few half chances and one or two decent ones but did not score - this is something we really MUST do when we are having a good spell in a game as the chances of us scoring when having a poor spell are almost nil. In the 2nd half we had less of the ball, seemed to run out of energy and ideas and inevitably fell victim to a simple looking goal after about 65 mins. As is so often the case the 1st goal can be vital - we were finding it difficult to get past Elgins defence before this, afterwards they went into ultra-defensive mode and we could`nt get a sniff of goal. Doger is right, the games we are playing now and for the next 4 weeks are ones where we must think we have a chance of getting points from. It has to be said that injuries are making the squad look a bit threadbare (Chris Newall was playing in midfield with damaged ribs and new signing Joe Robertson could not make the game - but I don`t know the reason) and the sooner we get these players back the better.
