Remember to be nice to Greig Denham on Saturday. After all he started the improvement off with Dennis. It`s not his fault the club wouldn`t pay for his coaching licence. I know he fell out with Dennis but it was probably frustration.

stewart36,
few facts needing cleared up, Dennis and Greig are still the best of friends. there never was a fall out between them, they are having a few beers on sat night along with diak after he has given the big yin the run around.
also it is a derby game and Greig is the opposition, hopefully nobody will be NICE to him until the final whistle blows

Thats good news I don`t like animosity. You can`t blame Greig anyway for moving on he`s probably getting 10x the wages. I was basing I suckumption on the novel "Pointless. If we`re careful we could get another result.

Are we all excited? I`m golfing in the morning in Edinburgh so I might have to turn up sober. I`m getting the 1.37 Dunblane train with my daughter might sneak a quick pint on the way down. See you all behind the goals ( if it`s open). We all have to give our best Stenny are no pushover!

A 6-1 loss to your derby rivals is **!?!* disgrace and looks too much like a score from the past 3 seasons. What on earth happened to our defence? That sort of defending against one of the 2 championship favourites could seriously lead to a double figures embarrasment. The first 2 goals - an individual error (Scotty has to hold his hand up here and take the blame for that one) and a ball to hand (some refs would give it and some won`t). 2 goals down in 10 mins and the confidence and team plan down the toilet already. But what was worse was the frankly embarrassing 4 goals we conceeded late on - don`t get me wrong, the Warriors have a better team than us this season but most fans never thought there was 5 goals between the teams. We would have accepted getting beat 3-1 or maybe even 4-1 but anything over that is a thrashing. We need to keep fighting till the very end - the game may be beyond us but we have to stop a potentially embarrassing and damaging score being built up against us. The manager will probably be tearing his hair out and the players need to take a hard look at themselves.
And now for the good news. At times in this game we actually played ok - from the 11th min to the 70th min we competed well, pushed them on to the back foot and Iain Diack scored a wonderful goal that brought us right back into the game before half time. You`ve got to do that sort of thing for the whole game though. One other good thing is that despite some people predicting we would have no points at the end of August we actually have 3 and are still loads better off than we were in the last 3 seasons and have the slightly `easier` month of September to look forward to. Although you might feel like it don`t `top` yourself yet.

I am getting fed up agreeing with you Ramz but what the hell I do again! Having sat through the first 10 mins the idea of actually spending the afternoon shopping for bloody curtains was looking attractive! Having said that if the ball had hit the back of the net instead of the bar for Shire on 70 mins at 2-2 the game maybe would have been a little different. On the negative side we lost 6-1 and probably most people expected the Shire to lose. A 3-1 loss would have been acceptable and at the time I thought 3-1 flattered the Warriors for all their Fancy Dans (not my words!). Sure the defence let us down in the last quarter chasing the game.
I have played football in the past at a reasonable standard and have always looked for the positives in a game. Take the above as the negatives.
Positives:
1. In Iain Diack we have a hard working forward ably supported by Ally Graham. The build up and goal by Iain was probably the best the Ochilview mob will see all season. In 88 minutes he chased a ball down to the dead ball line and got in a cross - some questioned his commitment last term but on todays performance - take a bow. 2. Derek Jackson proved once again that he is the best keeper in the Div. 3. Very few teams will get away from Ochilview with any points this season. With a squad like theirs the loss of the odd player will not be missed. 4. The Shire support today was superb and Bill has a new song which I am sure he will make available at all good record shops in due course. Paul Mcgrillen will probably not buy a copy. 5. The beauty of football is that when you start the next game it is 0-0. A good performance against Montrose will dull the pain of a Saturday when I should have been shopping for curtains.
Keep the faith
Come on Shire!!!!!!!!!

Swings and Roundabouts. A few lapses of concentration and we are made to look second rate - albeit for a very short while. We are still in a better position than this time last year and as, I think we would all agree, we have a pretty potent strike force results will come our way. Let's try and forget this somewhat unfortunate result and look forward to a result against Montrose.
Now for an early prediction: Ian Diack to be in the top three scorers of the third division come the end of the season.
Keep the Faith you Mighty 'Shire - We Will

I agree with all above. However lets get down to the real nitty gritty that Stenny Walk is something else I ended up chewing the carpet in Elliots( thats not something kinky by the way) and the barmaid said she couldn`t serve me any more drink. Which was a relief .Sophie made it though,so did Drummond and Stevie. This proved to me that you can`t drink a pint in every pub Drummond was right. If I ever do this again I`ll have to review my drink input! Remember he`s 11,hes McGrillen and he`s no worth a shilling.

And another thing why was Gordon not booked for the deliberate hand ball? If it was accidental it should not have been a penalty. Also the Shire fans got a good write up in the Daily Record today about barracking McGrillen. Lets face it Stenny didn`t have to work very hard for their goals and they missed another 2 or three presents, also Jacko had some good saves.

Also the Shire fans got a good write up in the Daily Record today about barracking McGrillen. quote] stewert 36, you and some others enjoy barracking Mr MGrillen but perhaps we should all consider this - does he always score/ play well against us BECAUSE he gets barracked and gets motivated? Maybe there is a case for just ignoring him (or carrying boards that say we love you Paul McGrillen!) and see what happens. What do you think?
