It has been asked on another thread "how did it come to this?", well `this` is it. We live in `interesting times` - this is the 1st game that the new management team will be in charge of and the British record for a losing run will either be broken by us if we lose or not if we don`t. Personnally speaking you can take these particular `interesting times` and shove them where the sun does`nt shine - all the `Shire supporters desperately want things to improve and we just might get a glimpse of some things to come tomorrow at Cowden. Lets get everybody behind the team tomorrow as we usually do and hope they have a right go - we genuinely don`t have anything to lose and the sooner we get a bit of pride back for EVERYBODY in black and white the better.

I reckon shire will win 3-1 tomorrow. We've ran cowden close in all the league games so far, and they will be terrified of losing tomorrow, which sould give us an advantage. Plus the fact all the players will be out to impress the new management team.

S.D.M.C. will be there.
12 years on and these boys still keep turning up.
The hardcore will never let the club down (Shire board are you listening - heard that you're a waste of space, surely not ?)

Cowdenbeath 2 `Shire 0, Well that`s us got the British record for losses in a row - a shocking statistic but at least it`s over and done now. I missed Cowden`s 1st goal scored in 3 mins (central defenders not in right positions, so I`m told) but saw the rest of the game. In a lacklustre match neither side can say they played well but I was a little dissappointed that we did`nt compete and play better. We huffed and puffed and had our fair share of possesion but lost the ball far too often, barely managed a shot on target and looked unlikely to score throughout the game. Cowden`s 2nd goal was a straightforward cross and header - it`s amazing how vulnerable we have been to this throughout the season. To be fair we did`nt get many `breaks` as our American cousins would say but the same workrate we showed in the midweek Stranraer game might have helped make more openings for us. I was surprised to see Chris Baldwin playing mostly up front - surely that`s not his best position(?) but I suppose the new management team must be allowed to find that out for themselves (Many supporters were asking where were Rab Hare and Dougie Polwart but again the management must suss out what they can + can`t do for themselves).

What disappointed me about this game was how we lacked the organisation of the midweek performance against Stranraer. This has been a sh**e season with a very few glimmers of hope but these faint rays of promise have always been dashed in the next game. I hope that Newall doesn't just let the season run out but actually tries to get something out of the remainder of the season.

The wee round man showed his true colours and his very poor eyesight, his myopia is really quite astounding, during this game singling out Darren Miller for swingeing criticism when he was, at worst, having a decent game and was the only one of our players to attack a ball in the whole game. The supporters club should impose some kind of penalty on thingy "the Home fan" by deporting him to narwich or some other backwater deemed to be suitable for him to learn repentance and see the error of his ways.

We should ask his alter ego "Lizbet" what punishment would be suitable. Forced to stand with the rest of his home fan buddies at the next Firs Park game. Get him elected to the board and made to sit with Mackin. Nah, that won't work, Mackin never turns up. Any body got any ideas? I'm sure treble T can come up with something.

The most disappointing aspect of the game for me was that Cowdenbeath were so obviously there for the taking. They didn't seem up for it all, but we couldn't turn our second half possession into many real chances. Lot's of set-pieces and balls bouncing around the box but only Roddy's header off the bar to show for it.
As for Wellibob, it's clear he should stick to not watching the game as when he does his opinions are total p*sh! Cut out the "home fan" behaviour now and get behind the team.

Are we trying to play every Joy Division song ? Trying to find new ways to shoot ourselves in the foot, or worse.
It doesn't matter that we've obviously improved in the last two games the fact is we still lost. We're just getting better at it. Who knows, we might get a point at Hampden on Saturday. I'm still scared to leave the house to go to Tescos today in case I meet someone and have to justify the Shire one again.
Worse, I have to go to work tomorrow. Shire fans DO care. Even for us there has to been an end to this hell. 630 mins to the end of the season - just can't wait.

time to defend myself. I was slightly tipsy at cowden on sat. I couldn't see very clearly and as miller has blond hair, he stands out from the rest of the blurry players so I noticed him more than the others. I personally thought he wasn't having as good a game as he normally does (he was bloody good v Stranraer e.g) As for acting like a home fan. That's below the belt. Never will be that bad. Normal services will be resumed at Gretna.
Also I WILL BE AT THE GAMES NEXT SEASON. CAN ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SLAGGING ME SAY THAT.
