OK folks, its time to have that grin surgically removed from our faces and to come back to reality (boo, hiss!). The game against Montrose is at least as important as the F*****k game if it gives us league points. Over the last 3 years our record against them has been pretty shocking - some home draws and not a sausage away - I honestly can`t remember the last time we beat them. This has to change if we want to get something out of this season apart from a big fat wooden spoon. Although they are not a team to be underestimated they are in the middle range of teams that we should be seriously gunning for. Come on Shire, I think we now know you can do it - lets get some more points and pull ourselves up that table!

Points are indeed precious and I'm sure Dennis has already beaten the drum on that one. Its nice to see the name of Diack at the top of the Scoring charts for Div 3 on Sky Sports, lets hope he is still there at the end of the season and Ally is second.

Talk about dispair and joy! Sat here at work and groaned when Montrose scored on 82 and just about ripped the roof off when Dymock hit the net! Even better is that Elgin look to have given up a 2-0 lead to draw. Dymock looks the business.

To be honest before the game I thought a draw would be slightly dissappointing but afterwards I am happy to take the point (espescially 0-1 down with 8 mins to go!). This was a hard fought (but not excessively dirty) and competitive match which, at times, descended into a grim struggle - thats not to slag the game, its important to come away with something from these type of encounters and I thought a draw was a fair result. We played reasonably well but lacked penetration in the final part of the field - however Montrose paid us the compliment of being really well fired up for this game and scrapped and fought for everything. In the past we would have simply crumbled, and I thought we had when referee Boyd (a new ref who made many erratic descisions) gave a penalty against us when an opponent cunningly fell over in the box - thankfully Derek Jackson pulled off a great save and dealt with the rebound as well. When they scored I thought `we`ll never get through this packed Montrose defence in time` but Steve Dymock drilled in a deserved equaliser through a crowded box for his first league goal to save our bacon.

Ramz As you probably realised me Sophie and Sam didn`t agree with 9/10 of his decisions. It`s about time The Shire got a "homer" a thing I`ve never seen. Are all refs in a conspiracy against the Shire underdogs or am I paranoid? The lads worked hard for the 90 minutes and what about DJ for a goalie he`s magnificient and in real danger of becoming a Shire legend. Talking about legends McGrillen(remember him) apparently tripped over the ball in the Arbroath box in the 89th minute and the ref gave a penalty. Just as well that wasn`t against The Shire or something might have been said. Lets face it the quality of refereeing in Div 3 is pretty poor.

McShilling has come in for some stick on the Pie and Bovril site as well. It would seem he has very few friends in his non- SPL dream world!
