(formerly "`Shire Supporters Club Train Trip to Montrose 18-12-04" that was cancelled late in the day)
The Supporters Club is planning to organise a train trip to the away game with Montrose on Saturday 18th December. Members interested in going on this trip should contact me at Saturdays game, by phone, post or private message on this site. The supporters club will buy groups of tickets at least a week before the game to take advantage of cheaper prices and will aim to reduce the price of a return to Montrose to below £10 for anyone travelling from F*****k (members travelling from other areas will recieve a similar discount but we cannot guarantee the final price they will pay). I will give out more details after we have some idea of numbers interested in travelling.

Many of the things said on the Peterhead bus thread also apply here. A return to Montrose will normally cost around £18-£20, with cheaper tickets for buying early deals and a subsidy the supporters club aim is that everyone travelling from the F*****k area will pay under £10 (ie £9). Because we will buy the tickets early we have to make sure that everyone who says they want to go actually goes, otherwise we will be left with an unused ticket and lose the money used to buy it.
People not turning up or calling off late will hurt our ability (and willingness) to put on trips like this in the future by wasting club money which belongs to all members. The Elgin bus on 6th Nov was only just over half full due to late call offs when other people could have travelled had we known earlier. To discourage people doing this kind of thing in future (without GOOD reason) anyone not turning up for the bus (or train) and giving no notice will only be invited on other trips that season at the convenience of those orginising travel (eg when there are spaces that cannot be filled by other members). Anyone giving a late call off (after 6pm on a Friday night) will be put at the back of the queue for spaces in the next trip. In either case we may ask you to pay your share of travel money even though you did`nt go - remember, we know where you live!
Can those who told me they were interested in going on this trip confirm to me by this Sunday that they still want to go. Don`t be afraid to tell me you can`t go or are not sure if you will make it or not - I won`t bite your head off - I`ll only do that if you say you will go and don`t turn up!

Details are as follows:
Out Journey:- F**kirk G 9.36 Stirling 10.09 Montrose 11.33
Return Journey :- Montrose 19.16 Stirling 20.43
or the one I prefer Montrose 20.18 Stiriling 21.43 F**kirk G 22.22
Tickets:- Shuggie and Dead will buy their usual 4 tickets and Shuggie is buying 4 more tomorrow (friends and family Stirling to Aberdeen with the return journey the later time). The remaining tickets will be bought by the other travellers - Ramz will organise. (mistereff, you will be included in the friends and family tickets so you just need to buy return from FG to Stirling. I will let the other 3 people who are sharing your ticket know. The four Shuggie/Dead tickets are accounted for).
Costs:- Cheap day return FG to Stirling is £3.50. A share in the Friends and family ticket will be £11.25 (this will save you £5.65 for the full journey). If Ramz tells you to buy a ticket on the day buy a return to Stirling and then a return from Stirling to Montrose. Cost from FG will be £20.40 in total but compared to the £29.00 (can't believe this) for a direct return from FG to Montrose this is a must.
As you know the supporters club will be sponsoring the cost of the trip, as I am no longer directly involved I will let them tell you the details of what costs you will be personally refunded. However, for the good of the club funds we don't want to chuck money pointlessly away here so be smart. If you choose to pay £29 for a return ticket then the supporters club will assume that you bought the £20.40 option (do you really want to p.i.s.s. off Mr Matthews ?). If in doubt phone or e-mail us. If your name isn't down yet, speak to us asap as we may be able to many more savings.
See you there.

nobody will be buying the £20+ ticket. All tickets will be subsidised the same amount. the supporters club WILL NOT be paying £10 + per person in subsidies when cheap tickets are available. Strumps. Co-ordinate this with Ramz. will phone you later tonite to come to some sort of deal
One thing is certain. If you don't travel with the official party, you don't get subsidised. Just like if you miss the bus going on an away trip, the supporters club don't subsidise your travel if you go by car or plane

Well the trip went ahead as planned and was fine - just a pity there was no game for us to watch when we got there! The latest I have heard on a re-arranged date for the game is that the clubs do not have to play untill March and are unlikely to agree to play earlier.

The Supporters Club appreciate that many members will not be able to make this re-arranged midweek trip for varoius reasons. To assist those that do go - I think everybody is in cars - each car will be subsidised by £5 based on a trip from F*****k and varying amounts from other places.
