"We can't expect any help from the league"
If this is the case, then it's a sad indictment of the Scottish Football League that it can stand by and watch the directors of one of it's member clubs deliberately plan their own club's demise and do absolutely nothing to prevent it. It was said earlier in this thread, "The ideal situation would be for there to be some vetting procedure of people getting involved in football clubs in order to prevent people like Mackin getting into the game in the first place", a sentiment with which I agree wholeheartedly. But will the SFL ever take steps to instigate such a system? And even if they do, in our case, it's too late. What we need is some way, now that he's already in there, to get him out again. And the SFL, with the obvious evidence available to them that he is not a fit and proper person to be in such a position, should be doing all they feasibly can to assist in that outcome. It's all very well to say all we have to do is finish 9th or better next season. However with the handicaps inflicted on the manager and the team by those in charge of the club, that's easier said than done.
