Ex shire fav or not in some cases has packed in football to concentrate on his studies. East Fife have agreed to this request. Another good player exits the game (not)

Craig was one of the most fraustrating `Shire players I have known. He had obvious raw talent but found it difficult to control his wayward tendencies. Was a brilliant dribbler of the ball and could go past poeple in a flash but tended to give the ball away a hell of a lot and never seemed to be able to make a decent pass to anyone before the ball got taken off him. Brian Ross, then the `Shire manager, made the correct decision to sell him to Dumbarton 2 or 3 years ago now. I would compare him to a coal seam that has bad geological fractures - you know the good stuff is in there but its too hard to get it out!

Strange you should say that as the best game I ever saw him play was an away youth game at an old power station next to Kincardine. Along one touchline was a coal "elevator" belt. Shire youths ran out 2-1 winners v Dunfermline. Lynes was awsome, scored and then unluckly got sent off. A few month's later he got his chance in the 1st team and the rest is history.
